Uniform change

On October 3, 2011, the NFL approved the Broncos' request to switch the team's primary home jersey color from navy blue to orange, beginning with the 2012 season. The orange jerseys that were the team's alternate colored jersey from 2002–2011 will become the primary home jersey, while the navy blue jerseys that were the team's primary home jersey from 1997–2011 will switch to alternate designation. The change was made due to overwhelming popularity with fans, who clamored for the team to return to wearing orange at home, which was the team's predominant home jersey color from 1962–1996. The road white jerseys remain unchanged.[1][2]

Roster changes

On January 2, one day after the end of the 2011 regular season, the Broncos signed defensive tackle Jeremy Jarmon, defensive end Cyril Obiozor and cornerback Ramzee Robinson to future contracts.[3]

2012 draft board

The Broncos traded their sixth-round selection to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for linebacker Joe Mays.[4] The Broncos originally traded running back J. J. Arrington to the Eagles in July 2010, with the condition that if Arrington did not make the Eagles' 53-man roster at the start of the 2010 season, the Broncos would instead send a 2012 sixth-round selection to the Eagles (Arrington was indeed released by the Eagles shortly before the 2010 season).[5] The team also traded a conditional 2012 draft selection, a 2011 sixth-round selection and fullback Peyton Hillis to the Cleveland Browns in exchange for quarterback Brady Quinn.[6]

Notes:

^[a] The team acquired an additional fifth-round selection in a trade that sent wide receiver Brandon Lloyd to the St. Louis Rams.[7] The Rams originally sent a sixth-round selection to the Broncos in October 2011, however, the selection was later upgraded to a fifth-rounder after a condition was met in which Lloyd made a minimum of 30 receptions with the Rams.[8]
^[b] Exact numbers of the selections from rounds 4–7 will be determined later in the spring after compensatory selections are awarded.
